THE HERON POST presents THE ARTS
Miami
Couture fashion and Argentine tango collide in a new short film presented by The Heron Post that spotlights two fine arts in pure brilliance.
In the film, Rocío dances exclusively in designs by Baccio Couture, the luxury label founded in 2002 by designer Fausto Baccio. The couture pieces grace the screen with flawless movements by the professional tango dancer in a way never captured before.
Rocío and Germán Filipeli have been dancing together since 2000 and are counted among Argentina's most well-traveled tango performers. Their résumé reads like a map of Buenos Aires' most storied tango houses: Esquina Homero Manzi, Viejo Almacén, and Señor Tango, along with milongas such as Canning, La Viruta, and El Beso.
They trained under masters including Carlitos Perez, Pupi Castelo, and Osvaldo Zotto, and have carried that training onto international stages, representing Argentina at Expo 2012 in South Korea and performing in the tango production "Tanguera" at venues from London's Sadler's Wells to Germany's Deutsches Theater. Today, the pair lead the company Fever Tango 3.

Baccio Couture, recently featured on Netflix’s Members Only: Palm Beach, has built its reputation on treating clothing as art. The Miami-based brand is known for hand-painted textiles and intricate, artist-driven detailing rather than mass production.
Regarding his creative process, Mr. Baccio described watching an idea come to life in front of an audience as one of the most rewarding parts of his work — recalling a moment hand-painting a dress live on a runway at Naples Fashion Week as a reminder of why he founded the label in the first place: to merge art and fashion into something people don't just see, but experience.
That philosophy — fashion as something felt rather than simply worn — lines up naturally with tango, a dance built on passion and human connection. The project also reflects a broader trend of fashion houses turning to dance and performance art to showcase collections in motion rather than on a static runway, a format that lets craftsmanship — beading, hand-painted detail, the drape of a skirt in a turn — reveal itself in ways a coordinated catwalk cannot.

The film was filmed and produced by Ivan Gutierrez, a fashion and luxury magazine photographer who said, “It was one of the most magical moments I’ve ever filmed. On the streets of Miami, everyone stopped and stared in awe at Rocío and Germán. It was all very difficult and completely raw, and that’s why it was so beautiful.”
Rocío’s makeup was completed by award-winning makeup artist, Dasha Kardosh, who was speechless behind-the-scenes as she witnessed the performance.
